MarriagePrimary record
7 August 1879, Soerabaja, Oost Java, Netherlands Indies

Date entered as "8/7/1879"; day/month order not confirmed by a record (read as MDY).

The marriage itself is still not found: no 1879 Soerabaja record is indexed in Open Archieven. The PARENT-CHILD LINK, however, is now proven: the Rotterdam marriage of 16 Jul 1907 (akte reg. 1907K) names the groom Herman Francois Clarkson, 26 years old, born at Soerabaia (Nederlandsch Oost Indie), and gives his father as Abraham Clarkson and his mother as Hermina van Ede Van Der Pals. The Nijmegen population registers independently place Hermina van Ede van der Pals in one household with Herman F. and Willem P. Clarkson.

Notes in the tree

First records found for her. The 1907 Rotterdam marriage of her son names her "Hermina van Ede Van Der Pals", mother of the groom. The Nijmegen population registers list her as head of a household with her sons Herman F. and Willem P. Clarkson (wijk B deel 3, ca. 1890) and later with Willem P. (wijk A deel 10, ca. 1900), i.e. as a widow in the Netherlands after Abraham's death in 1882. A Nijmegen notarial deed of 5 Jul 1900 names her together with Abraham Clarkson and Robert Henry Clarkson. No birth, marriage or death record for her has been found; her parents are given in the tree as Jan van der Pals and Mak Ponno, which points to a birth in the Netherlands Indies.
